Nestled in the heart of downtown Murphys, The Heard House is a very sweet, single-level cottage completely rebuilt in 2008 with modern comforts and conveniences, yet it maintains all the charm and character of its bygone era. It is an easy walk to everything in downtown Murphys, including the Murphys Hotel, shops and restaurants, over two dozen wine tasting rooms, a quaint museum, a community park and the river. Located on a 1/3-acre parcel in a residential neighborhood one block off Main Street, the cottage is nicely set back and hidden from the street so you have all the privacy you crave, without the traffic and noise issues of downtown.
The open and airy living room has vaulted ceilings and a toasty gas fireplace. The kitchen is stocked with coffee beans, teas, condiments and spices for cooking and entertaining. It features a vintage gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, and breakfast bar seating for four. The bedroom has both closet and dresser space, a comfy queen-sized bed with cotton bedding in the summer and flannel in the winter, fluffy pillows, and a duvet cover and down comforter. The bathroom has vaulted ceilings, a claw-foot tub/shower combo, plush towels, a hair dryer and hotel toiletries.
Enjoy your morning coffee or a starlit sky relaxing on a private deck with bench seating and a 6-person table, while watching for the squirrels, turkeys and an occasional deer that frequent a large open area behind the cottage.
